Why Volunteer With CNIT
Volunteering with CNIT is a chance to build something real: a growing movement helping mental health professionals bring nature into care safely, ethically, and accessibly. Whether you’re supporting a training day, helping behind the scenes, or lending professional skills, your time directly strengthens mental health access and prevention.
Volunteers often say they gain:
-
A meaningful contribution to mental health access + prevention
-
Community — warm, grounded, mission-aligned people
-
Skill-building — events, communications, design, systems, research, and more
-
A deeper relationship with nature — at your own pace (no “outdoorsy” requirement)
Plus, we take care of our volunteers. Depending on your level of involvement, you may receive training discounts, free access to select learning resources, service verification letters, and milestone recognition.

FAQ
Do I need to be “outdoorsy”?
No. Many roles are remote or indoors. For outdoor roles, you can choose low-demand options.
Can I volunteer remotely?
Yes—content, admin, training support, and community support are all remote-friendly.
How much time is expected?
We offer roles from one-time (2–6 hours) to ongoing (1–4 hours/week).
Can groups or companies volunteer together?
Yes. We can design a team volunteer day and add a short nature-based reflection.
Will I be trained?
Yes. You’ll get a short orientation plus role-specific guidance.
Will CNIT sign off on service hours or internship hours?
Yes. We can provide service-hour verification and, when applicable, supervision for student volunteers. Tell us what your program requires in your application, and we’ll confirm whether we can meet those requirements and sign off on hours.
