Service Description
Over the last decade research and recognition of the benefits of Outdoor Psychotherapy and Nature-Based interventions has hugely evolved. Surprisingly however, there is still a dearth of literature on the area of Eco-Supervision. Supervision is a reflective practice. It is a safe space to learn, feel, experience, tap into unconscious process, and explore the practitioners work life as well as the clients’ world. Stepping outside the therapy room for supervision may bring a host of new information and fun! Including the natural world in the supervision process can lead to a more embodied creative approach, working with rich metaphor, nervous system regulation, and the wider ecosystem. In light of the ecological crisis we find ourselves in, outdoor supervision can also help deepen a practitioners relationship with the ‘more-than-human’ world and increase their capacity to hold those experiencing eco-grief, and trauma associated with natural disasters and extreme weather events. This talk will introduce Eco-Supervision, giving particular focus to both one-to-one, and group Outdoor Supervision. It will be a space for you to start to dream up how your supervision practice may change, expand and deepen in an enriching and enlivening way.
