About the Program
Findings reveal new mothers experience maternal distress on various levels: Â adaptation, functioning, and connecting. Not to mention that for some of us postpartum anxiety, depression, rage, and other significant struggles are no joke. Â How do we manage to take care of everything including our own emotional life? Â Are there any life hacks for new moms?
This group is designed by a mother of two and a licensed nature-informed mental health counselor to address the mental health needs of new mothers. Â No need to leave the baby with a caregiver - babies from newborn to active crawler's stage are welcome to our group too! Â Together we'll practice caring for an infant and ourselves simultaneously and explore which resources we have at our disposal that are efficient yet underrated. Â We'll find out how to increase mental clarity and connection and get back on track using a holistic and nature-informed approach.
Studies support the beneficial effect of being in nature and Nature-based interventions for postnatal well-being, socially, mentally, and physically. Let's create a safe and non-judgmental space to share our experiences, challenges, and triumphs as new moms and practice well-being activities amidst nature's tranquility.
When: Â Thursdays: May 16, 23, 30, June 6th, 4-6 pm. Where: Cromwell Valley Park
