Full description (paste into the event page) Intro to Backpacking for Mental Health & Wellbeing (2026) Back by popular demand, this guided, beginner-friendly backpacking weekend is designed for people who want a real reset—fresh air, steady movement, supportive community, and time away from the noise. Co-led by mental health professionals, we’ll spend three days immersed in the ridges and valleys of the Appalachian Trail region near Michaux State Forest. Along the way, we’ll introduce simple nature-informed wellness practices—grounding, mindful walking, reflective prompts, and “unplugging” rituals that help your nervous system settle and your mind open up. This isn’t about crushing miles. It’s about doing something meaningful and challenging with support—and coming home clearer, steadier, and more connected to yourself and the natural world. Mandatory Pre-Trip Zoom (Preparation + Group Orientation) We’ll cover gear, packing, trail expectations, water/food logistics, safety, and help everyone feel ready.
