You no longer have to cross the country to train in nature informed therapy.
In June 2027 we bring our foundational training to the Pacific Northwest for the first time, putting it within reach of practitioners across Washington, Oregon, Idaho and British Columbia.
The session is held at Bellevue Botanical Garden, on the eastern shore of Lake Washington and about twenty minutes from downtown Seattle. Clinicians from Tacoma, Everett, Olympia, Bellingham and the Eastside can attend without an overnight stay. Portland is a two-and-a-half hour drive; Vancouver, British Columbia is about three; Spokane is four.
Learn in a landscape your clients already know, then carry the work back to your own practice and community.

THE VENUE
A Landscape That Teaches
Douglas fir and western red cedar. Moss on big-leaf maple. Sword fern and salal underfoot, and the marine air coming in off Puget Sound.
The Pacific Northwest has a character you will not find in a conference room or an eastern woodland, and it is the reason we chose this venue rather than a hotel ballroom.
Bellevue Botanical Garden holds fifty-three acres of cultivated gardens, restored woodland, and natural wetland in one walkable site. The Native Discovery Garden was built specifically to teach Northwest ecology, with roughly a thousand plants across a hundred and twenty native species. The Ravine Experience runs a third of a mile through old conifers to a hundred-and-fifty-foot suspension bridge, forty feet above the forest floor. The Lost Meadow Trail loops through ten acres under active restoration.
For clinicians working across the Salish Sea region, the skills you build here map directly onto the places your clients already walk — and onto the losses they already feel. Salmon runs, wildfire smoke summers, the retreating glaciers on Tahoma. Eco-grief is not an abstraction in this part of the country. It walks into your office.
THE VENUE
Who This Training Is For
The training runs two tracks side by side. Mental health professionals (therapists, counselors, social workers, psychologists) earn CE hours and work toward Certified Nature Informed Therapist status. Allied practitioners (educators, healthcare providers, wellness coordinators, community leaders) build a field-ready toolkit and work toward Certified Nature Informed Practitioner status.
LOGISTICS
Getting to Bellevue Botanical Garden
By air and rail
Fly into Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA), about 25 minutes from the Garden by car. You can also arrive without a car: Link light rail's 2 Line connects downtown Seattle to Bellevue in roughly 20 minutes, and Wilburton Station is the closest stop to the venue.
By car
The Garden is at 12001 Main Street, just off I-405 at exit 13A. Drive times: Tacoma and Everett under an hour, Olympia about ninety minutes, Bellingham about two hours, Portland about two and a half, Vancouver BC about three, Spokane about four.
Lodging
Lodging is independent. Downtown Bellevue is roughly two miles from the Garden and has more than thirty hotels; Seattle is twenty minutes away by light rail. Book at least 60 days ahead sinced late June is peak season across the region.
Accessibility
The education center, restrooms and store are wheelchair accessible and paths around the buildings are paved. Most Garden pathways use 3/8-minus gravel, an ADA-compliant surface, though some trails are sloped and narrow. There is a drop-off zone near the main entrance. The Garden does not loan wheelchairs. Tell us what you need at registration and we will plan around it.

3-MONTH CERTIFICATION MENTORSHIP
$840
Optional. Required only for C-NIT or C-NIP certification. Three 1:1 consultations and three 90-minute group meetings.
For comparison, a graduate certificate in nature-based counseling runs upward of $12,000. This is three days, 19.5 CE hours, and a credential, for $990.
