Embark on a journey of self-discovery and community connection with our Men's Hiking for Mental Health Series. Presented by Chesapeake Mental Health Collaborative and the Center for Nature Informed Therapy, this series is designed specifically for men who are looking to enhance their mental wellness and forge a deeper connection with the natural world.
🌲 When: Every Monday from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM, starting March 11th until April 15th, 2024.

In this six-week series, you'll join a supportive group of like-minded men in the serene setting of Merryman Trail. Each hike is an opportunity to delve into effective mental health strategies, addressing common challenges like stress, anxiety, restlessness, sleep disturbances, and physical discomfort.

Your Instructor
Phillip McKnight
Phillip McKnight completed a two-year training program for teaching awareness and compassion-based practices accredited by the International Mindfulness Teachers Association. Phillip has experience teaching a wide variety of ages, backgrounds, and abilities and uses his MA in Instructional Systems Design to determine the needs of the participant and help them develop skills in mindfulness meditation with tools for body, heart, mind, and community.
Tim Ayd
Tim Ayd believes that growth is born from challenge, a philosophy he's embraced through his ongoing pursuit of education and experience in the field of psychology. With a Master of Science in Clinical and Professional Counseling from Loyola University Maryland, where he earned a lifetime achievement award, Tim has a deep commitment to helping others. His work with Native American communities in Baltimore City has shaped his approach to psychotherapy, blending compassion with a love for the outdoors. A Maryland native and avid outdoor enthusiast, Tim brings his passion for nature into his therapeutic sessions, guiding others on their journey towards mental wellness. An avid Lord of the Rings fan, Tim lives by the words, "All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us," a quote that mirrors his approach to both life and therapy.
